Here you can choose from available time slots and schedule a time to let your voice be heard by reading a children's book for the Earphone Project. Have you been looking for a way to give back? Interested in narrating a book? Why not consider narrating one of our selections temporarily donated to our HEDC library to benefit the students of the District of Columbia? Schedule a visit to our temporary site, generously donated by Kaiser Permanente - Capitol Hill on Saturday, February 22nd and choose a book of your own abbreviated selection. Your voice will be recorded and accessed by the parent/child at any time, day or night, via a toll-free number. The DC Public Library has provided additional quantities and access to the recorded books. HEDC is encouraging parents as well as students to obtain a library card at your community library. A family can turn off the television, push away from the computer and give that electronic game a break. The overarching theme is to promote literacy and nourish relationships that can be shared for years to come.
Why should kids have all the fun? Sign up today to create access to a new world. Let the child within you encourage the children of today. We're striving to become a "Fully Literate District...one ward at a time"! Saturday, February 22nd. Please note you are requested to leave your email and telephone number. Your telephone number is NOT accessed by HEDC. This scheduling service sends text message reminders to you, which is great.
**Your prompt arrival ensures that other volunteers are able to record at their scheduled time. If you need to cancel, please do so immediately to allow others to showcase their reading skills:). Thank you in advance for being courteous and considerate.
